1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. “Similar technologies” include browser local storage and session storage. Together they let a site remember actions and preferences (such as keeping you signed in) and operate reliably and securely. We refer to all of these as “cookies” in this policy.
2. How we use cookies
We use cookies for the following purposes:
Strictly necessary
- Authentication, to keep you signed in after you use a magic-link, your session is stored in your browser. Without it, you cannot stay logged in.
- Security, to help protect against fraud and abuse and to keep the Services working as intended.
- Access control, if the site is in a restricted preview, a session cookie remembers that you have entered the access password.
Functional
- Preferences, to remember choices and settings that improve your experience.
Analytics
- Usage measurement, privacy-preserving analytics that help us understand which pages and features are useful. These use random identifiers that are never derived from who you are, and we do not use them to identify you personally.
- Specifically, we store: lr_vid (browser local storage), a random analytics identifier that persists until you clear your site data; lr_sid (session storage), a random per-tab identifier deleted when you close the tab; and lr_utm (session storage), which remembers the campaign link that brought you here for the duration of your visit.
- Analytics identifiers are removed from stored usage data on a rolling basis after 180 days; only aggregate counts remain after that.
3. Third-party cookies
A small number of third-party providers may set cookies when you use related features, for example, our payment processor during checkout, to process your subscription securely. These are governed by the third party’s own policies. We do not use third-party advertising networks.
4. What we do not do
We do not use cookies for third-party advertising, ad retargeting, or cross-site behavioral tracking, and we do not sell or share cookie data for advertising.
5. Managing your cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies. To remove local-storage items such as lr_vid, choose the option to clear “site data” (not only cookies) in your browser. Most browsers also offer a private/incognito mode. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may break sign-in and other core features.
Helpful links: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge each provide cookie controls in their settings.
6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
There is no common industry standard for “Do Not Track” signals, so we do not currently respond to them. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: when your browser sends it, our analytics do not record your visits at all.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies evolves. We will update the “Last updated” date above when we do.
